The inputs include two XLR-1/4" inputs with phantom power and two balanced 1/4" line inputs. Get instant visual feedback on your levels with the rich full-color LCD display. The outputs include four balanced, DC coupled TRS outputs and four unbalanced RCA outputs. The M4 also features a headphone output driven by the ESS converters with independent level control, as well as direct monitoring of each input in either stereo or mono operation.

The M4 can also be used as a stand-alone mixer using the included USB power cable. The included loopback mode is great for streaming or podcasting and allows the audio from the host computer to be routed through the unit. The M4 also features MIDI in and out, as well as MOTU Performer Lite and Ableton Live Lite. MOTU Performer Lite includes over 100 instruments and dozens of plugins, plus over 6 GB of samples from top libraries.
